Description
In 1965 the Colorado State Legislature declared mountain lions a big game animal with seasons and limits. Previously, they were an unprotected and bountied animal.
From 1965-1992, mountain lion regulations were included in the annaul Big Game brochure. From 1993-current regulations are published as a separate brochure. Starting in 2020, the regulations are only issued in a digital format. Regulations are also published in Spanish, beginning with the 2023-2024 brochure.
Print regulations are located in the Brochure Files in the CPW Research Library.
